Early Intervention

What is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention is a specialized program designed to provide support and services to infants and toddlers, as well as preschool-aged children who may have developmental delays or disabilities. The primary goal of Early Intervention is to enhance the development of young children and ensure they reach their full potential. At Abundant Life Family Services, rest assured that all our Early Intervention Therapists are highly educated, rigorously trained, and fully licensed professionals who consistently meet and exceed the highest standards, clearances, and regulations set forth by local, state, and national standards.

Improved Communication

Early speech and language support can enhance a child's ability to communicate effectively, reducing frustration and building confidence.

Behavioral Improvement

Early intervention can address challenging behaviors, helping children develop appropriate social and emotional skills.

Family Involvement

Parents and caregivers are actively involved in the process, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to support their child's development at home.

School Readiness

Early intervention equips children with the skills they need to succeed when they transition to school, promoting a smoother educational journey.

The Early Intervention Process

Our Early Intervention program at Abundant Life Family Services follows a structured and family-centered process:

Referral
The process begins with a referral, which can come from a healthcare provider, a parent, or anyone concerned about a child's development.
Initial Assessment
Initial Evaluation-the evaluation will only occur with your written permission. You will be given a consent form to indicate that you understand and agree to the evaluation. Planning for an evaluation begins with a team; you and your service coordinator, or representative from the early intervention program. Our team members may participate as appropriate for your child’s and families need. You are the expert on your child and your participation as a member of the team is very important
Individualized Plan
Individualized Plan-an Individualized Family Service Plan, IFSP is a written plan for infants and toddlers. An Individualized Education Program. IEP is a plan/program for preschool or school-age children. With your service coordinator or representative from the early intervention program, you help develop the IFSP/IEP. You are an equal partner on the team as the parent you are an expert on your child, your knowledge of your child is important to the development of the plan.
Service Delivery
Early Intervention services can include speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and developmental instruction, among others. Services are typically provided in the child's natural environment, such as the home or daycare.
Progress Monitoring
We continuously monitor the child's progress, making adjustments to the plan as needed to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones.
Transition
As the child approaches age three, we assist with the transition to appropriate services that will support their continued growth and development.

At Abundant Life Family Services, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. Our Early Intervention program is designed to provide the support and resources needed to nurture your child’s potential from the earliest stages of life.
