Abundant Life Family Services Earns BHCOE Accreditation for 2026–2028

We’re proud to share some news with the families we serve. Abundant Life Family Services has earned Full Accreditation from the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) for our applied behavior analysis services, effective August 15, 2026 through August 15, 2028. It renews the accreditation we first received in March 2024.

At Abundant Life Family Services, we believe transparency builds trust. So rather than simply adding a badge to our website, we want to explain what this accreditation actually involved, what an outside reviewer looked at, and what it means for your child’s care.

What Is BHCOE Accreditation?

The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence is an international accrediting body focused specifically on applied behavior analysis. Its standards were written by clinicians and researchers in the field. A few things worth understanding:

  • It’s voluntary. No law requires a provider to seek it. Providers choose to be reviewed.
  • It’s earned, not purchased. An outside body examines the actual work and can decline to award it.
  • It’s different from licensure. A license is legal permission to operate. Accreditation is an independent judgment about the quality of the work.
  • It runs on a cycle. Ours covers a full two-year term and must be earned again in 2028.

Choosing an ABA provider is one of the harder decisions a parent makes — often under time pressure, sometimes right after a diagnosis, and usually without a reliable way to compare one clinic against another. Accreditation is one of the few independent reference points that exists.

What BHCOE Reviewed

The review looked at the things a brochure can’t tell you:

  • Clinical quality: How treatment plans are written, how progress is measured session by session, and what changes when the data shows a program isn’t working.
  • Staff qualifications and training: The credentials of our BCBAs and behavior technicians, how new team members are onboarded, and whether supervision happens at the intensity the field considers appropriate.
  • Family and staff feedback: Confidential surveys asking caregivers and employees about communication, scheduling, progress, and whether they feel supported.
  • Organizational health: Clinical oversight, staff retention, and adherence to the ethical standards of the profession.

What This Means for Your Family

If your child is already receiving services with us, here’s the practical picture:

  1. Nothing changes in your schedule. Your child keeps the same team, the same sessions, and the same plan. This recognizes work already underway rather than changing it.
  2. The standard holds through August 2028. Accreditation isn’t a one-day inspection. We remain accountable to these standards for the full term.
  3. It helps when you’re advocating. Funders, school teams, and referring physicians often ask what independent review a provider has been through. Now there’s a clear, verifiable answer.
  4. Your feedback carried it. Caregiver surveys were part of the evaluation. If you filled one out, you contributed to this directly.

How to Verify It

Please don’t take our word for it. Our accreditation is listed publicly, and you can look us up by accreditation ID 667572 in the BHCOE directory. We’d encourage you to do exactly the same for every provider you’re considering — including us.

You can also view our full certificate and the complete cycle details on our Accreditation & Quality page, which is the page to send along if an insurer, school district, or county partner asks for documentation.

Our Certificate of Accreditation, signed by Stephanie Schenk, M.S., BCBA, Director of Accreditation.

Final Thoughts

Accreditation doesn’t replace a tour, a conversation with a BCBA, or your own instincts about whether a provider is right for your child. What it does is tell you that a third party looked closely at the work and found it sound.

At Abundant Life Family Services, we’re proud of this — but mostly we’re proud of the part that earned it: the families who answered those surveys honestly, and the team that shows up for your children every day. We’d ask you to keep telling us the truth, in surveys and in person. That’s what keeps the standard real rather than decorative.
